The Physiological Society

Helping a 150 year old scientific institution reach a new young audience

Animation

Challenge

The Physiological Society’s membership is made up of some of the most experienced physiologists from around the world. That gives it great credibility but it also means the average age of members is high.

The Society came to us to help them reach a new younger audience with an animation explaining what physiology is.

Solution

We ran a focus group with young people to find out more about the kind of content they like to consume and used the information we gleaned to come up with an animation that would resonate with 16 - 25 year olds.

This was done in parallel with constant consultation with a panel of scientific advisors to make sure physiology was being accurately represented as a discipline.

“It’s been a pleasure to work with Orinoco Communications across several animations. All were delivered on time and to an incredibly high standard. They have been really popular with our members, as well as with the public and have allowed us to showcase areas of physiology in an engaging and interesting way.”
