Dell Medical School - Factor Health
Introducing a totally new way of doing healthcare in the USA
Animation
Challenge
Factor Health is a platform that is seeking to tackle the broken US healthcare system by focusing on the factors that drive health in a totally unique way.
Its mission is clear but the approach is so innovative that it has been a challenge for the Factor Health team to articulate how it works in a simple and accessible way to potential partners and investors. That’s why they asked us to create a short explainer animation that they could use at meetings, presentations and online to generate interest in the Factor Health platform and drive investment.
Solution
We created a bright, optimistic animation that gets to the heart of what Factor Health is all about. We came up with visual analogies that would help to position the Factor Health project as part of a continuum of status-quo-shifting inventions that have disrupted industries in the past.
“Peter and his team at Orinoco Communications helped us distill our complex health care platform into an accessible, easy-to-understand explainer animation. They worked closely and patiently with us every step of the way and helped us take advantage of every opportunity to showcase the right language, images, and ideas.
As we work with partners from across different sectors, we’re using the animation to introduce a wide array of audiences to our platform, including potential investors.”

The Factor Health team were keen to portray their platform with the sense of positivity and optimism that lies at the heart of their mission.
To reflect that we developed a sketchy, informal style of illustration, colored with a bright palette, all of which was brought to life with soft, buoyant movement.
The rough storyboard phase is always one of the most informative and enjoyable parts of the process for us. This is the period when we can test ideas with minimal risk. It’s a time to be experimental and playful before the concepts are locked and final designs drawn up.
