Showcasing the mission of the British Academy to help launch its new brand

Challenge

The British Academy is the UK’s leading organisation representing research in the humanities and social sciences.

  • It has multiple roles as a funder, convener, champion, supporter and educator.

  • It represents a wide variety of different disciplines.

  • That variety had to be represented in a short 60 second video that would work with and without audio to greet all visitors to the homepage of its new website.

 
 

How we helped

  • We produced an energetic and inspiring film to showcase the Academy’s mission.

  • Spent a day filming in and around their photogenic London headquarters to give a sense of the space and its people

  • Combined footage with archive film highlighting global issues addressed by the Academy, e.g. racial injustice, poverty, climate change and conflict.

We were well aware of the British Academy’s influence across many, critical areas of research from our previous work with the organisation. Our goal was to capture that dynamism and show how the Academy brings its eclectic fields of interest into a singular mission.
